Family is awesome.

When my friend, The Italian, was in elementary school, he didn't talk much. Not because he couldn't, he's quick to point out, but just because he didn't have much to say. A teacher got concerned, and decided he should switch to special ed classes.

He spent THREE WEEKS riding a short bus, to his special classes, AT A DIFFERENT SCHOOL before anyone in his family figured it out.

"Hey, why the hell are you riding the short bus?" his dad asked in amazement one afternoon.

The Italian shrugged.

Two of his siblings DIDN'T EVER NOTICE HE WASN'T ON THE REGULAR BUS WITH THEM.

The next time the DNB points out how much I talk, I'm going to remind him that that may be the only thing keeping me out of special ed.
