And Now for Something Completely Different

I'm still recovering from a fun, but whirlwind, graduation weekend. My parents and a few of their many children came to celebrate with us. My four-year-old brother, Daniel, was his usual fount of energy, even after racing around the Children's Museum for four hours. If it was this exhausting for us, I can only imagine what all of the old folks are feeling.

On the way home from our graduation party last night, the DNB asked, "What if our kid is as active and mischievous as Daniel?"

"Since you can't pick your kids," I told him, "Until we're ready to have a child as active and mischievous as him, we're not ready for any child."

"True," he replied. He leaned back against the headrest and stared into space for a moment. "Your mom must be so tired."

We sat in silence, imagining what it would be like to be this worn out, nearly every day. Happy Mother's Day indeed.

That being said, in lieu of a real post for today, here are few things I'd like to draw your attention to, in case you missed them:
  • Click on the "Our Photos" title to be taken to our Flickr page with, well, our photos.
  • If you click on the photo itself, you can scroll through some pictures we took on a trip to Michigan. The beauty of the photos belies the agony of the day on which we took them. A blog about that is coming soon.
  • Each day there's a new quote from the now-defunct show "Arrested Development." It was, arguably, the funniest show on television, and I highly recommend that you rent all three seasons. Immediately.
  • Further down, you can play Simon right here, on this page. It's hella cool for you old-schoolers out there.
