A Tale of Two Cities

Our hotel has a Sleep CD!

I am currently "into" the soothing sounds of rainfall, babbling brooks, and desert canyons at dusk. The DNB is "not." He is obviously a communist.

But because we're in Minnesota this weekend, looking for a place to live, he is feeling happy and content. He asks me if I would like to listen to the CD to help me fall asleep. "Would I!" I shout. "Of course you would," he responds, with only the tiniest touch of sarcasm, and turns it on.

Thanks to Hotwire (circle R), we're staying at a fancy riverfront hotel in St. Paul for only $54 a night. The hotel clerk helpfully points this out at check-in.

Things I've learned so far:
  • I do not have a Sleep Number; and
  • I feel like I need a houseboat.

A fancy riverfront hotel in St. Paul sounds very nice right now. I'm staying in a mediocre hotel 8 miles from the Mexico-US border and spending 20 of my waking hours either working in the assembly plant or driving. Can you save me the shoe horn? Only a shoe horn from a fancy hotel in St. Paul would make me happy right now. :-p
